I read somewhere that the 50mm is considered the lens closest to that of human sight. I am different and believe I see closer to 70mm. I first noticed this using my 18-70mm lens at 70mm, then I got a 55mm macro lens (72mm with the 1.5x magnification) which confirmed my observation.
